Hekaya is a Dubai-based designer jewellery brand that creates unique pieces inspired by Islamic art and architecture. It all started with the enigmatic beauty of the arabesque. While looking through intricate Islamic patterns, Narmina Aliyeva, designer and creative force behind Hekaya, realized that she might convey the beauty and grandeur of Islamic art through enamel jewellery. The name for the brand followed spontaneously: Hekaya (حكاية), which is the Arabic word for a story, narration. The first Hekaya collection consists of 7 pieces. Each piece – at once colorful and intricate – functions as a miniature vessel of transportation to the world of Islamic art, for the wearer to immerse themselves in. The Prophet's Mosque in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kufi calligraphy, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in the Emirates, Samarra mosque in Iraq, Alhambra palace in Spain, Iznik tiles of Rustem Pasha mosque in Turkey, and the Blue Mosque in Tabriz were the inspiration behind them.
Hekaya's logo incorporates the book - the most powerful symbol of wisdom, knowledge and enlightenment, that are central to Islamic civilisation. Each jewellery creation comes in an elegant book-shaped box with individual story telling its background history and inspiration. Thus, Hekaya brings to life its slogan: "Jewellery that tells a story".

All Hekaya designs are born from the original hand-made casts at the manufacturing atelier in UAE. Each piece is hand finished and meticulously scrutinized for details. Our pieces feature 18K gold base as well as precious stones to enhance the overall aesthetic as well as the intrinsic value of pieces. |
